We have just had 6 nights at this hotel in Bradford. We had some business to deal with and the hotel was super in terms of location. We had a twin bedded room and it was suitable for our needs. The hotel was very quiet and breakfast was taken in our room. Snacks are available from 3pm and there is a bar. The staff were excellent - friendly and very helpful and we had everything we needed. The hotel is minutes from Bradford Interchange and plenty of shops. The Manager Anthony is excellent and made our stay very comfortable. Leonie served us like royalty. Well worth a visit and available at a good price.
Stayed here multiple times and never had an issue at all. Staff are very friendly including receptionist, altho elevator has been out of action for over a year so if you have medical conditions l recommend try to get a room on the first floor as the steps are steep and it’s quite a long way to the top of the building depending what floor you are on. Rooms are outdated, Definitely need new windows, the whole building could do with a new refurbishment. pictures of the rooms on the website need to be changed to as most of the rooms look nothing like the pictures. Hotel is very central so there’s quite a bit to do for fun and food But I’ve loved my stay every time I’ve visited even if the hotel is a little been run down :)
I stayed here yesterday and found the building itself to be beautiful and full of character, but unfortunately the hotel seems to have declined in quality. The lift has been out of service for some time, which was quite inconvenient. The heating in my room wasn't working properly, and there was a noticeable cold draft coming from the window. Breakfast was acceptable, and overall the stay was quiet and calm. With some improvements, this hotel could definitely live up to its potential again. The location is great right in Bradford city centre, only a few minutes' walk from everything.
We attended Christmas Day lunch (12:30 sitting) and, sadly, the experience was very disappointing. We had informed the hotel in advance that two members of our party could not attend, but a table was still set for four, which felt disorganised from the outset. The soup course was acceptable, however we were only given two very small bread rolls between the two of us, which seemed inadequate for a Christmas meal. The vegetarian main course was extremely poor and genuinely one of the worst meals I’ve had in years. The vegetables appeared to have been defrosted from frozen, were lukewarm at best and completely lacking in flavour. The strudel did not taste freshly made and felt mass-produced, which was especially disappointing given the occasion. Service was another weak point. The waiting staff were polite but clearly inexperienced and under-trained, which led to a lack of attentiveness and confidence throughout the meal. Due to the overall disappointment, we chose not to stay for mince pies and coffee and left early. It’s a real shame, as Christmas lunch should feel special. Unfortunately, on this occasion, both the food quality and service fell well short of expectations and we won’t be returning any time soon.
Absolutely terrible Christmas lunch: - One bite-sized roll each with the soup - The veg for the main wasn’t fresh - it was clearly frozen veg warmed up - the ‘roast’ potatoes were like rubber; the sprouts, carrots and parsnip were very chewy and fibrous as frozen veg usually is; the veg strudel was clearly bought in and not baked fresh. We left before the mince pies and coffee as we’d had enough of frozen food and can only imagine what poor quality the coffee must have been! An absolute disgrace. One of the worst meals I’ve ever had. And to add insult to injury it cost £50 each, which tbh probably cost them £1 per portion at absolute most. Had I have paid £5 I’d still have felt ripped off! The staff, while polite, were clearly inexperienced and out of their depth. And when we complained they didn’t know what to do or say. And we weren’t the only ones who complained! On top of this the car park is £10 for 24 hours! We were only there an hour! Not a good experience at any time but certainly not for Christmas lunch.
