Very disappointed with how Lister Health has handled the recent renovations and the impact on its members. Renovation work has been ongoing for nearly two months, yet new memberships continue to be sold despite the gym already being overcrowded. During this period, members have experienced severely limited facilities. For weeks there were no proper changing rooms, forcing members to change in toilets, sauna areas, or showers. Currently, there are only three usable changing spaces (one being used for storage), only three showers, and reduced locker availability due to renovation areas being sealed off. Despite paying the full £30 monthly membership, many key facilities have been unavailable for over six weeks, and members have now been informed that toilets, showers, and the sauna will be out of use. No compensation or adjustment to fees has been offered. Equipment reliability is also an issue, with multiple treadmills frequently marked out of order. Concerns have been raised repeatedly, but many members feel their complaints are not taken seriously unless raised collectively. This is meant to be a female-only gym, yet the current standards and planning fall well below what members should reasonably expect. Posting this review as formal complaints have not been adequately addressed, and many members feel unheard.
I’m a newcomer and have been going to the gym regularly for about two weeks now, and I’m honestly really enjoying it. Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming, which made it so much easier to settle in and feel comfortable. The spin and LBT classes are great, especially for beginners. The instructors are so supportive and encouraging, and they always make sure you can go at your own pace while still getting a really good workout. The facilities are really clean and well looked after, and there’s a great range of equipment too, so there’s always something different to try. Kiran and Sarita are fantastic instructors! They’re always friendly, helpful, and encouraging. They take the time to guide everyone properly and make every class fun and motivating.
Love the new crosstrainer and the stair master very easy to use. Staff always very welcoming especially mehnaz at reception always happy to help! 👍👍👍👍👍
I can’t express how disappointed I am with Listers Health Women’s Only Gym after my mum’s recent experience there. From the moment she stepped in, it was clear that the gym is more focused on aesthetics and superficial marketing than actually providing a welcoming or effective environment for its members. The staff were unhelpful and disinterested in answering questions, giving off the impression that they were more concerned about their own conversations than assisting gym-goers. The facilities themselves were lackluster at best—equipment was old, not well-maintained, and there seemed to be no effort made to keep the space clean or organized. My mum, who’s new to the fitness world, was hoping for some guidance, but unfortunately, there was none to be found. What really stood out, though, was the overall atmosphere. The gym is supposed to be for women, but it felt isolating and unfriendly, like no one really cared. My mum left feeling more discouraged than when she arrived. For a gym that prides itself on being “women-only,” it really missed the mark on creating a supportive and inclusive space. I can’t recommend Listers Health to anyone looking for a professional, well-maintained gym with a positive, welcoming atmosphere. It’s clear that they need a serious overhaul in terms of both customer service and the quality of their facilities. Save your money and find somewhere that actually cares about its members.
Having just moved into the area, finding a new gym was very important to me. Natalie was so enthusiastic about showing me around and making sure I felt welcome, that I knew where all the equipment was, the gym class times and how to access the facilities. The classes I have done so far have been run so well by the fitness coaches and I feel like I’m going to really enjoy it here!
