Art gallery in a beautiful Edwardian house just outside Bradford city centre. There are large gardens and a lake to walk around and in the house itself are several large rooms to display art. We visited for the Turner Prize exhibition as part of Bradford's year as City of Culture. The local people we spoke to were all very proud that Bradford was hosting the Turner Prize and the staff at Cartwright Hall were extremely friendly and welcoming. A lovely visit!

This handsome building is worth a visit. We went along for the Turner Prize exhibition and looked at the other pieces from their collection. Well organised and exhibited and friendly staff in all the rooms. About 15 mins walk from Frizinghall Station which is well connected. The park is pleasant to walk in too and the cafe is good.

Beautiful hall and grounds, but does have a little of an unkept feel to it. Sadly we did see some rats in the car park! The free parking was great, and the Turner exhibition was very impressive. Disabled access was around the rear of the building, and not very well signed and we went to the front to begin with, but helpful staff escorted us in and once within it was easy to manoeuvre within the building. Definitely worth a visit.

This art gallery is in one of those Victorian buildings that expresses the confidence of the period. On my visit there was an exhibition of the Turner Prize finalists and this was excellently curated. It is well worth a visit if you are at all interested in art. The setting, within a large park, only adds to the experience.

Visited Cartwright Hall for the Turner Prize and it was wonderful! Such a nice way to spend a few hours on a weekend. Gorgeous building, lots of free parking round about. Would recommend.
