11th Nov 25. Went with the wife for lane swim at 12pm. 4mins to 12 the unfriendly battle axe on reception told us to wait in foyer....spot on 12 let in, changing rooms stinks of sewage and freezing. The swim itself in slow lane was chaotic. Geriatric torpedoes that should be in a faster lane making it difficult for us slower people, all the while the life guards didn't care of pay attention. Very upsetting experience 😢.
Its such a good pool honestly. Plenty of space. I think the only thing that is quite a bit of a turn away is the children. Ones whos parents arent telling children whats safe and whats not. Because there was a group of boys when we visited, who kept cannon balling off of the diving board. Had been told multiple times not to and yet still kept doing it. I understand you go for fun, but parents, its also your job to keep your kids safe.
family swim** is a joke... my 21 year old daughter goes to family swim most Sundays with her 12yr old brother and gets questioned everytime, are you his mum! cos you look to young to be, you have to be a parent or guardian to bring a child in to family swim. she's his older sister isn't that family swim!!!! there's plenty of other people in there older men without any children were are there children 🤔. sort it out!!!.
We've just decided to end my children swimming lessons. We've moved from Shipley pool with hope that the Eccleshill is better than the old one. Unfortunately, this is a really bad venue for children to learn to swim. I've not seen any progress whatsoever or any reached achievements during the last year. In Shipley, both regularly progress while here only stagnation. I regret that swapping swimming venue for my littlies. I fully understand that swimming lessons are not a very challenging task for the staff but please ... a bit more effort is needed. Won't recommend
Does not offer swim4all sessions anymore so now there’s no longer any time for fun swims with friends and siblings. Does not allow untraditional family structures into family swim as only parent or grandparents with child are allowed leaving no space for guardians or other adults in the child’s family to bond in a fun and healthy manner. Receptionists aren’t very friendly or welcoming. Pool is going downhill.
