Hainsworth Park Golf Club

If you want a great course with testing greens and a flowing lay out, this is perfect. One of my favourite in our region and massively underrated. Greens needed a roll last time I played here in May but worth a visit for thr money.

I came down as a visitor from north Scotland. As someone who js used to links golf, this course was a real joy. Totally different, wide fairways and lots of trees, as well as some challenging dog legs. Pro shop staff were very friendly and helpful, and even warned me about no.7 (which didn't help, boy that's a tough one). If I'm ever in the area again, I will absolutely return.

I've never played at a place quite like it here, Park is definitely the operative word. Open and mainly flat, first cut rules here, fairways are minimised on some holes, I lost two balls and therefore strokes on the 5th, they weren't wayward shots and should have been found easily but hey! Thats golf as they say. There's a lot of crisscrossing of the holes, a couple of ditches run through the course and across many holes, every fairway and green is guarded by bunkers and they know where to put them!. On most holes even with a slice or a draw you should be ok. We easily found our way around most of the course but were forewarned about the 13th tee being a bit hidden, so we knew where to look. Lovely bar area and friendly staff & members, definitely worth a day of your time.

We turned up on time, to be told we would be going round with another pair. Unfortunately the other two didn't turn up. We only played 9 holes because there was several 4 balls in front of us that slowed things up. It took us 2 and half hours to play 9 holes, so we left.

Excellent course with open and expansive fairways. Some tricky holes but a good course overall. Will definitely visit again
