The Black-a-Moor Inn

My family and I have just had a beautiful Christmas dinner at the Black a Moor Inn and we couldn't fault it. The service was excellent and the staff were so friendly and attentive, especially with little one. The food was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. We were blown away by the quality of food for the price. The restaurant was busy but spacious and looked very festive. We can't wait to visit again.

We stayed here last weekend as we going to a nearby wedding. What a fabulous place! From the moment we arrived, Callum and his staff made us feel really welcome. Nothing was too much trouble, and our room was clean, comfortable and warm. Many thanks to Doug for one of the best breakfasts we have had. I would definitely recommend and will be back soon.

I booked the cheapest room I could find so wasn't expecting much, but this by far exceeded my expectations. Lovely room that was bigger than expected, powerful shower and comfortable beds. No additional charge to take a dog, and there was a good space behind the car park for the dog to run around in and do her business. We had dinner there and it was delicious and very fairly priced (with a bottle of wine for £15). The toad in the hole was the best I've ever had.

Stayed for a night with my daughter, a friend and her daughter, booking 2 double rooms. The rooms were clean and comfortable with good ensuite bathrooms. One room was larger than the other, both had tea and coffee facilities and a TV. Beds were comfortable. We stayed at the front of the pub, so there was some noise from the road but it didn't disturb us. We ate evening meal in the pub downstairs, the food was absolutely amazing, I had one of the nicest pizzas I've ever tasted! Kids meals are generous portions! And they had a kids eat free deal on (bonus!) There is a service charge added but you are made aware of this when paying and it can be taken off. Staff were friendly and very welcoming, my daughter loved the gemstones from the little shop at the rear of the restaurant. We had a great stay and it is ideally located for Ripon.

This is our second stay here And I'm on the understanding this may be new management? I wish them the very best Our one night stay was met with a warm welcome from staff Shown to our room which although on the road side caused us no concerns And was spotlessly clean and well presented, the bed was extremely comfortable and being a cold evening it was a lovely warm room We had a late evening in the bar and was most welcomed being under new management there was some decorating and new life being put into the rooms and pub and this could only be met by good wishes from myself. Breakfast is not included in the room price but we booked it and it was just perfect! Large portions plenty of options including vegetarian We shall return next year
