Best place ever. Atmosphere always 100/10. Food is delicious. Prices absolutely match the food. Drinks are cool and unique. You have to go!
This was our first visit and we were so impressed with everything, from the decor to the service to the food and even the little touches like the popcorn and cinema showing Disney films. We had the brunch - two kids breakfasts, one big American breakfast and the cinnamon bun with chicken and bacon and they were all amazing. The drinks were all absolutely delicious, especially the freak shake we got. We had s'mores to finish. A thoroughly enjoyable meal and all the staff were so lovely and helpful.
Food was lovely hot and fresh, good burgers. A bit on the pricey side at £18 for there cheapest burger with chips. Staff were friendly, attentive and we had a great evening.
Been to this place many times for birthdays and other occasions. I’ve visited today for my birthday, and the service was outstanding! The atmosphere is always lovely and it’s a really nice place to sit down and enjoy a meal. The servers at Huddersfield are always lovely and polite, and made me feel very special on my special day. Thank you to all the lovely staff!
I’m a fan of the Hickory’s chain, having visited two of their other locations. Unfortunately, this was the least positive experience of the three—at least in terms of service. The restaurant was almost empty when I arrived at 4pm midweek, with fewer than a dozen cars in the car park. I stood at the host stand waiting to be greeted, but no one came. It was only after one of the chefs spotted me that someone finally arrived—after what felt like an age. I asked for a booth outside; there are four in total. One was occupied and the other three were empty but not clean, so I offered to wait. The host removed a dirty glass from one of the tables and ushered me to sit down, but never came back to wipe the table, which I thought was poor. My order was taken promptly, and my plate, bottle of water, silverware, and napkin/bib arrived quickly, as did my drink. The complimentary popcorn, however, was slow to appear. The server who brought my food was lovely (that was the only time I saw him), and someone checked in to make sure everything was okay. The food itself was very good—all the smoked items had a lovely pink smoke ring. The brisket was a little dry, but apart from that I couldn’t fault the quality or the portion sizes. Service slowed down again once I’d finished eating. My plate wasn’t cleared for a long time, even though I was the only person seated outside by then—it felt like I’d been forgotten about. When someone finally came, I asked for the bill and a box for my leftovers, but both took a while to arrive. I’m all for “low and slow” BBQ, but not when it comes to service.
