Walk: Bempton Cliffs
The stunning cliffs provides a dramatic backdrop for all the walks around this RSPB sanctuary on the coast. The reserve is widely known as the best place to see seabirds in the country and is a must for any nature buffs. The Route what3words for start point: ///arose.games.traffic Start Point: Car park, Cliff Ln, Bempton, Bridlington YO15 1JF Finish Point: Car park, Cliff Ln, Bempton, Bridlington YO15 1JF Distance: 7 Miles GPX Route Map bempton-cliffsDownload Walk Description This is an RSPB reserve so admission fees do apply so check ahead before visiting. There are plenty of parking spaces at the visitor centre. There are also many coast edge viewing platforms along the several walks on the reserve so you can use the mounted viewing equipment to see the hundreds of thousands of birds up close. The walk heads down towards the cliffs. Once you have spent sometime there its only a short stroll back to the visitor centre. There are multiple walks to take with lots of activities for the family along the way and the bug hotel is must visit for younger children.
Walk: Flamborough Head
A jewel in the crown of Yorkshire. Enjoy some of the most stunning coastal views in the world, never mind the region. The Route what3words for start point: ///craft.ditching.butchers Start Point: Flamborough Finish Point: Flamborough Distance: 7 Miles GPX Route Map flamborough-head-1Download Walk Description These stunning cliffs and headland have been drawing visitors for hundreds of year due to their amazing views and unique wildlife. Enjoy this walk by taking in the views whilst discovering the UK's oldest surviving lighthouse on the headland. The bird life here is amongst the most populous and diverse in the country and you will often see bird spotters congregated at various points on the walk. Starting in the village of Flamborough itself, the walk will take you up to the headland and on the way see if you can spot gannets, gulls and auks. In the summer months you should also see large populations of butterflies as you stroll down to Thornwick bay to maybe dip your toes in the north sea, if you're brave enough!
Walk: Danes Dyke
A unique mix of woodlands and coastal walk near Bridlington Links just off the B1255. This is a short walk but a hidden gem due to the mix of the environments. Don't forget the camera as you'll get some amazing shots of Dyke's End and Sewerby Rocks by the sea. The Route what3words for start point: ///readily.mentioned.pumpkin Start Point: Flamborough Finish Point: Flamborough Distance: 2 Miles GPX Route Map danes-dykeDownload Walk Description Danes dyke is dominated by a lovely little woodland that hugs the coast near to Flamborough, It is a delight to see the seasonal flowers such as bluebells and snowdrops flowering as you enjoy this short stroll from woodland to beach. You should also see squirrels and maybe the odd dear if you're lucky. There is a car park on Flamborough road, just follow the path from here and it will wind you through the woodland to the beach. When you reach the end you'll be greeted with lovely views of the coast towards Bridlington.
