We booked a 3 night stay in the Zavijura geodome at Camp Katur over the Easter weekend. Check-in was quick and friendly. The geodome itself was perfect for a weekend glamping. It has its own shower and toilet, which was handy. We went with 2 kids, and although the sofa folded out to sleep 2, our youngest went in a travel cot, which worked better. It had one USB charging point which was located on a floor socket by the wired in fridge, so it was possible to charge a phone, but we found it easier to use the standard plug sockets in the communal kitchen. Given the time of year and dull weather, the dome got pretty cold on a night. However there was a log store which we stocked up with plenty of logs from and made sure we got the stove going early enough on an evening and before we got up on a morning to ensure it was toasty warm. I imagine the domes would be like a greenhouse in sunny weather, and they advise to keep the shades closed on bright days. The field the domes were on was pretty boggy, but it had been unusually rainy, so this was to be expected. In dryer weather, this would've been a perfect space for playing and ball games. It was also handy to be able to boil our camping kettle on the log burner. The outside area had a fire pit with a grill that I'd guess you could bbq on. However, it didn't look clean enough for food, so it's probably best to take your own. There was also a picnic bench and two single benches. Although there was no crockery in the dome itself, there was a communal kitchen with 2 cookers, many toasters, a microwave, kettle, and plenty of crockery, cutlery, baking trays and pans. We actually had breakfast down there every morning and dinner one evening. There is an onsite pub (open until 8 on selected evenings) where it was nice to get a drink and chat with other campers. From here, you can also buy pizza kits, which include dough, sauce, cheese, and toppings, for use on the wood fired pizza oven. We had good fun doing this one evening. Expect a short wait to use the oven on busy evenings. Round the corner from here is the onsite shop that operates on an honesty system (you fill in a slip to say what you've taken, which gets charged to your card when you leave). There's also a wide selection of items to borrow and return (hot water bottles, travel cots, camp beds, chess, and rounders set). The site itself is very big, and at times, you can feel like the only people there. At the far end of the site is the 'plane crash' site, which we walked to by the lake. There were so many rabbits round there! There's also a swing park for the kids, an outdoor gym, and a woodland kingdom play area. There was plenty of wildlife around to enjoy - every evening, we had a pair of tawny owls right by our dome calling to each other. On the Saturday morning, my 7 year old daughter and I took part in the bushcraft experience. This was led by Jonathan, who was very knowledgeable and an excellent teacher. Along with another family group, we learnt to build effective shelters a la Ed Stafford, start a fire using a few different methods, and we did some campfire cookery. This was a highlight of the weekend and was absolutely worth the extra money. The session ended with lunch around the campfire with toasted marshmallows and hot chocolate for afters. I'd absolutely recommend Camp Katur (though I'd maybe stear away from a geodome in the height of summer if you don't like the heat). It is pricey, but it was worth it for us, and we'd definitely return. It's in a central location with plenty to do nearby, so perfect for a family weekend.

Great place to visit for a family with young children. The new Woodland Adventure hosts a respectably large play area with lots to do, a large wooden castle to play on, a variety of swings and a den building area. There are picnic and BBQ places to use and a new toilet facility which is much improved. All included with the £10 per car is very reasonable and we spent 3+ hours on site easily. Other activities are available at extra cost; such as high ropes, Segways and quadbikes - but these are all rather pricy which is the only negative.

A great day out for all the family. We went on a quad bike trek for a family members 60th and had a great time. It was quite challenging in places but the instructors Simon and Harry really looked after us. Lots to do here and it's in a lovely setting. Highly recommend to all and would like to go back again and have a go on the climbing wall or high ropes.

Fabulous place with loads to do especially for kids, but wow, expensive. Just about worth it for the high wire but £50 for a ride on a quad bike is ridiculous. The cafe is closed which was very annoying as we would have taken a picnic if we knew. This needs to be made clear on your website. All in all, Our Grandson loved it so that was all that mattered.

Thought we was in for a great day out but we ended up very disappointed. We bought a season pass from a local radio station for £30, drove an hour to get to the place to find really all you get for your money is entry to their play park! We could have done something similar to this in our own town for free. They look to have a lot of activities available but all at ridiculous prices. We left after an hour feeling ripped off and angry. Thank goodness we didn't buy the pass full price at a whopping £60!
