Family of 4 eating. Very slow service and though ok home cooked food takes time but when the pies came out almost cold and mushy peas like they had just come from the tin cold. Asked for more gravy which took 15 mins and had been sat that long it had a skin on. Wasn’t busy either. Really disappointed. No one even came to ask if things were ok. If the meal was hot and had a nice amount of gravy then it would have been nice.
Nice experience. Unable to comment on all facilities. Recommendation subject to change. Menu and nightly activities look enticing. Mixed Grill appeals as its all red meats supplied by a butchers we're familiar with. We'll be back.
Really cosy family friendly run pub with log fires in both rooms. Great food selection from the menu. A great carvery Fridays and there Sunday dinners are the best (booking essential ). Monday night is chip butties night and discounted drink night.
You can't go wrong at this wonderful pub. The food is superb, all the ingredients are locally sourced and cooked to perfection. You've got to try their full English breakfasts, especially the large belly buster. 3 sausage, 3 bacon 2 eggs, 2 hash browns, black pudding ( my fav), beans and plum tomatoes, comes with toast and tea. Me being greedy ask for fried bread on top....fantastic. But then, you've got to try their homemade pies, packed with filling to the brim, simply the best. They have lots of offers on different nights, so it's always worth calling in for a feast....
Only went to restaurant/pub. Very friendly staff, excellent food. Went in for Thursday pie night and started with the onion rings- just brilliant! Also had the Steak & Ale pie and the Mince & Onion pie. Excellent food. Kiddo had the cheese pizza which wasn’t brilliant and he didn’t finish - only reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars. Otherwise great food, great experience. Will definitely return.
