Rose Cottage Chinese

Did lid fall off the vinegar when you was adding a drop of vinegar to my bbq sauce? Jesus Christ it tastes like pure vinegar. Prawn toast way too done and literally very tasteless. If you honestly think this Chinese takeaway is nice your taste buds must be crap😳 does chef not taste his own food? Had to try get as much bbq sauce as possible off my food to try enjoy it a little bit but everything else was just as bad

Been using this place years and had a few minor issues but nothing major... had to get a few things replaced for being too well done but usually they're OK about it and the replacements arrive promptly... we really enjoy the starters, ribs and noodle dishes... their curry dishes are good too... the 2 latest reviews that give 1 star are a little harsh - so there are other Chinese takeaways out there, but imho ALL Chineses have good and bad points... xx

I'm a big reviewer all over the UK and not local so sometimes when u so for something to eat at a takeaway I ask them to wash my food bowl..... Since start of covid everyone been totally fine regardless of where I've been in the UK. Tonight stop at rose cottage and they refused...😂 So back to van... Wet wipes n paper napkins...job done. 2nd attempt...got food...not that great.... Tasted loads better locally 😝

Having ordered from here multiple times previously, it is always an indicator of how good or bad a business is based on how they resolve a problem. Today we ordered and had food delivered. Part of the order was wrong due to a mistake made over the phone. A call was made to rectify this, no apology was offered just that they would redeliver the correct item and take payment of £1.40 at home. We explained that we had not eaten what was not ordered and would return this. After some debate it was agreed to swap this at no cost as it was their mistake. When the driver arrived he tried to take payment which we refused based on the previous conversation. He had us speak to the boss on the phone again who now said we would have to pay?! Again no apology and no customer service and the replacement food was taken away as we refused to pay based on principal! Such a small issue caused by the restaurant them self which would have cost less than 10% of the cost of the one order to resolve has now resulted in this review and the loss of multiple long term customers once word of mouth has spread between family and friends. STAY AWAY!

Ordered delivery meal and got delivered in no time 👌 Food arrived pipping hot and delicious Highly recommend to everyone 👍 Definitely better than you would expect from local takeaway Delicious
