The management team at Soanes Poultry has made a significant investment in the future of their workforce by enrolling nine staff members in the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely course. This course is tailored for individuals from various roles within the company, including Team Leaders and Senior Management, ensuring a well-rounded approach to safety across all departments.

The IOSH Managing Safely course lasted three days and focused on essential health and safety skills. Participants came from different areas of the business, including:

- Lairage
- Operations
- Despatch
- Transport
Topics covered in the course included:

- Incident investigation
These subjects are crucial for improving workplace safety performance and ensuring that everyone understands their role in maintaining a safe working environment.

Ben Lee, the Managing Director of Soanes Poultry, expressed pride in the team's achievements. He stated, “The course is designed to provide practical, immediate tools for safety management rather than just theoretical knowledge. While health and safety has always been a shared responsibility across the management team, the wider team now has the knowledge and skills to strengthen compliance and further develop a proactive safety culture across every department, alongside our NEBOSH-accredited health and safety manager, Kevin Holderness.”

One of the course participants, Piotr Trzeciak, who serves as the Operations Liaison Manager, shared his thoughts on the training.
