Eastgate Caravan Site

Fantastic site! Wonderful and very friendly people, peaceful site with fishing and lots of nature.

Lovely site, well kept and owners are friendly and helpful. Good hot shower. Small play park, but plenty to do. The kids never got bored over the 3 days. Fully serviced pitches so bring a hose for the water (we didn't bring ours). Large pitches so was plenty of room. Animals to look at and feed like pigs, chickens etc.

Just to add to the comments in the response: We caught it all on vehicle dash cams, so they can deny it all they want, they are nice to your face, they even offered to help me find the shoe they had thrown in the tree, I personally watched them tipping buckets of sand over the heads of the younger ones, and walking off as if nothing had happened, and heard the boys quite clearly telling the really young kids to fight each other... the sign and equipment were not mutilated by any of the children with us, but it was drawn on ( 10 changed to 100 ) after one of the kids pointed our the sign saying under 10s only in the park. I still stand by the review, the park is excellent and we will continue to recommend it, I mentioned the railway line because it puts some people off trying a site but I wanted reassure those people that actually the slight noise from it every hour or so isn't really an issue and you quickly get used to it. Excellent caravan site, all the facilities you need and a really good play park for under 10s, it was let down by the seasonal pitch holders kids though, bullying little kids and trying to make the really young kids fight each other for their amusement, our son was playing in the sandpit with his cousins and got sand tipped over his head and his shoe thrown into a tree. The site itself is down a really narrow driveway so you can expect some scratches on your windows as you drive in an out when the bush isn't trimmed back, it's also right next to a train line, it bothered us for about 2-3 hours, but then you got used to it, so don't let that put you off, just watch your children around the other kids

Perfect getaway for peace and tranquility, Sue the owner is such a lovely person and very easy going. You can buy fresh eggs for £1 very tasty and delivered in the morning ready for breakfast. There is 2 ponds on site great for fishing/ dog walks. The site itself is in a great location wether you want to go to Scarborough or York there's plenty to do. I would 100% recommend this place such a good find!
