Welcome to Yorkshire

|So you like Sophie Ellis-Bextor, love rosé or both? Well here’s the news: Sophie has teamed up with an East Yorkshire distillery to launch her very own wine and it’s perfect for Christmas. Say hello to Rosé on the Dancefloor!
Let’s get into what makes this wine special, where it’s from and why you need it for your next party.

The story behind rosé on the dancefloor
Inspired by Sophie’s hit song, Murder on the Dancefloor, this rosé is more than just a clever name. Made with Claudio Quarta, a well known winery in Italy, this wine is made from 100% Primitivo grapes grown organically in the beautiful region of Puglia.
Now, before you’re thinking “What does that mean for me?”—here’s the fun bit. Primitivo grapes produce wines full of rich, fruity flavours. In Sophie’s rosé you’ll find a delicate mix of cherry, wild strawberry, pomegranate and raspberry with a hint of pink pepper for some zing. And yes, it looks as good as it tastes—bright pink with subtle coral undertones.
From toffee vodka to festive wine
Interestingly this isn’t the first time Sophie has collaborated on a drinks project. After launching toffee vodka for her husband’s band, The Feeling, Sophie approached Wicstun Distillery, a small but perfectly formed business in East Yorkshire to help make her rosé dream a reality.
Their task? To have the wine ready for fans to enjoy by Christmas 2024. And they’ve done it!
What Sophie and Wicstun say
For Sophie this is more than just a wine. She says,
“Making music and travelling the world is my life and sharing a really lovely wine with those you love is pure bliss! Puglia makes me feel this way and it’s been a pleasure to help create this lovely rosé. I hope you enjoy this wine—drink while dancing! Cheers! Sophie xx”
Wicstun Distillery’s Jago Packer added:
“We are chuffed to have been asked to work on this project with Sophie. It’s a big vote of confidence in our small business. We hope it introduces us to a new audience across the UK and helps with our growth.”
Why this is a Christmas treat
Whether you’re having a quiet night in with friends or a big Christmas bash, Rosé on the Dancefloor is the perfect fit. Here’s why:
- Taste: Light, fruity and a bit spicy—it’s the wine equivalent of a dancefloor hit.
- Origin: Made in Italy’s sunniest region, Puglia, it’s got that Christmas magic in a bottle.
- Exclusive: This is a limited edition so it’s a bit of a treat.
