Lovely little pub , beer garden in the sun and s propa decrnt pint of Tetleys off big Dave . Av a pop in for 1 , you wont be dissapointed
The Blue Bell at Old elerby is a traditional English country pub, serving several cask conditioned real ales on hand pumps plus a variety of other beers and cider. There is a nice outside seating area. The large car park and field attached to the pub are used for classic car meets in the summer. There is also a bowling green next to the pub.
Met Mr Diamond - Dave and his wife Shirley ..such welcoming and warm hosts..first ever game of balls, boules, no bowles ah that's the one, coached by the experienced Dave of course and subsequently lost but hey ho ..I need that Manuel you talked about ..10 mins up the road this pub and I highly recommend you visit it!!
Shirley and Dave were so rude to me and my friends when we parked in the far corner of their big empty car park to go on a local walk prior to having a drink on our return. We didn't bother to go in and I never plan to now! They have since (as threatened!) put a chain across the entrance and the car park is always virtually empty when I pass. I think they only want their cronies to go in.....no idea how they keep going financially with no customers!!
Best boozer in the area, courtesy of the lovely landlords Shirley and Dave who give the place character and charm. Plus there's always a good guest ale.
