The Parsonage Hotel & Spa

Really pleased with this lovely hotel. We stayed for 3 nights in The Cottage building, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is buffet service with lots on offer. We had our evening meal at The Fat Abbot on 2 nights which was really nice, the food was delicious and portions were big. Easily accessible to York city centre - there is a regular bus service that takes you into the city, the bus stop is only a short walk from the hotel. It is also close to the designer outlet nearby (on the same bus route) which has lots of good shops. Didn’t get a chance to try out the spa unfortunately but it looked lovely. Staff are all friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay at this hotel again next time we visit York!

My fiancee and I had a wonderful pre Christmas wkend stay. The room was really nice and very clean,we used the Spa/pool.....this was excellent. ..pool was so warm and the gigantic hot tub. The bar area was very nice and we took drinks there at night, we ate at the fat abbot pub,unfortunately this was the biggest let down....I can only say the roast dinner was mediocre..... Roast potatoes were awful....veg was raw. The service was a bit slow. But on the whole it was a very enjoyable stay. We will definitely return.

Booked for four nights but returned home after three. The couch house was very dated and tired and smelt of a nursing home. We were moved to the main house which was much better. However the room at night was very cold and there were no blankets or telephone in room. The spa was very nice and the location was convenient for York- there is also a regular local bus service that takes you into York and lovely Tai restaurant. The younger members of staff were friendly and dealt with any issues quickly. Unfortunately this was not the relaxing trip we were hoping for.

The hotel was nice tho felt a bit dated in some areas, being on the top floor was a bit of a climb up the stairs if you have slight walking issues , the reason for only 4stars is the hot water run at a trickle and a small window not in the bedroom could not be fully closed tho this did not impact on our stay ! The staff were lovely and always helpful, breakfast was lovely and the hotel has a pub the fat abbot on site which serves lovely food. Most importantly we would stay here again!

Absolutely amazing stay. Beautiful cozy bedroom with the comfiest of beds, slept brilliantly on both nights. The spa was fantastic. Treatments were the best and staff amazing at what they do. Definitely worth a mention. Gary who works front desk at spa makes the place. He is a huge asset. Very welcoming and friendly. He deserves the best review. Hope he gets to see this. We are going through a lot at the moment and Gary went above and beyond for us. He is funny and attentive. Made us laugh and smile and we felt very relaxed and can’t thank him enough.
