Really well maintained area to pay respects for those 353 soldiers who gave their lives in WW1. A lovely area for a peaceful walk, to relax and enjoy nature. The car park for the war horse and statues is in the sports ground and a walk across the field

It's a nice tribute to those lost in the First World War and the sculptures in the corner are a nice touch. The trees have come on a bit since my last visit. A information boards giving some information about it all would be nice. Free parking which is sing posted and you can walk along the road or through the rugby ground to the meadow

This is a really good, modern War Memorial to those who gave their lives, in their Service to our country in World War 1. The great, 20 ton, sculpture is set in a Memorial Garden of 353 marker posts, nestled away at the Featherstone Rugby Club ground - each bearing the name of a Serving resident of Featherstone, West Yorkshire, who gave their life. The sculpture and the marker posts are guarded by "There but not there" silhouettes. Apparently, a Remembrance Service is held, annually, on Rembrance Sunday, here as well as at the town War Memorial. This Memorial was opened in only 2018 and, currently (2020), has yet to be provided with a hard surfaced access footway so, access for people with impaired mobility is a little difficult but, I saw that the provision of such a facility is in progress, apparently, being funded by the local town Council. I highly recommend a visit to this War Memorial at any time of the year. Toilets and refreshments are available at the Rugby Club. There is a public bus service running past the venue with a bus stop outside the Memorial and, on-site car parking . Please visit, pay your respects and admire this feature.
