You'll gain exposure to a varied client base, work alongside experienced professionals and benefit from genuine opportunities for career progression and development.<br /><br /><strong>Key Responsibilities as Semi Senior Accountant:</strong><br /><ul> <li>Prepare year end financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies in accordance with relevant accounting standards.</li><li>Prepare and submit Corporation Tax and Self Assessment tax returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.</li><li>Manage clients' day to day accounting activities, including month end reconciliations, ledger maintenance, and management reporting.</li><li>Perform supplier statement reconciliations and support accounts payable processes to maintain accurate financial records.</li><li>Prepare, review and submit VAT returns accurately and within statutory deadlines.</li><li>Process weekly and monthly payroll for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payroll regulations.</li><li>Prepare and file monthly Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)</li><li>Complete and submit annual Confirmation Statements to Companies House on behalf of clients.</li><li>Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.</li></ul> <strong>Experience Required as a Semi Senior Accountant:</strong><br /><ul> <li>Around 2-3 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice (less may be considered for the right candidate)</li><li>AAT qualified is essential</li><li>Ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team environment</li><li>Competent in the use of multiple accounting software packages</li><li>Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and clients simultaneously</li><li>High attention to detail and a genuine pride in producing accurate work</li><li>Strong communication skills with a professional and client focused approach</li><li>Proactive, reliable and keen to develop further within practice</li></ul> <br />In return, you'll receive a competitive salary of £28,000 - £33,000 per annum dependent on experience, alongside flexible working arrangements that support a healthy work/life balance With excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression, this is a fantastic opportunity to build a long term career with a dynamic and forward thinking firm.
