I plan to visit Hawes on Tues 2 May. Can anyone confirm that the market will be open and if so the opening hours?

The answer
Tuesday is market day in Hawes. The Farmers' Auction Mart also has sales on various days, but often Tuesdays and Saturdays - diary here. There are other markets and sales at the Market Hall - calendar here. The official hours are 9am to 4pm, but don't leave it too late in winter time, as traders may be packing up before dark - the middle of the day on Tuesday is the ideal time to catch the market.
