Had a very rude member off staff who tried to kick us out because one of our party didn't have an ID. She only ordered food and even had a round trip taxi booked to go and get her ID. She told him about this trip and he decided to take it upon himself to cancel her food order entirely and refuse to serve her and myself. I understand that one of us bought her a drink before knowing she didn't have ID but this server knew she didn't have ID and still put the drink on the table, which made us think it was all ok. I then confronted the member of staff asking him for his name so that I could report him for being rude and unprofessional and he blatantly refused, below I have attached an image of the individual. The problem is we understand that Wetherspoons have a strict policy but, the unprofessional nature of the member of staff was appalling. There was no discussion or explanation. The conversation goes as followed 'your barred' 'leave' and walking away without even listening to the voice of reason, it honestly felt like the whole situation was a massive power trip.
Nice food, great service, was early morning so no real atmosphere. But that doesn't really matter when your in for breakfast, just ment we got served quicker. Easy to park as well outside or in carpark using computer to register car. Will be going again
⛔️🛡️ Serious Safeguarding & Customer Servicce Failure ⚠️🧾 While waitting at the bar, a staff member (identtifiable by a nose piercing) refused to serve me without any clear reason or explanattion. Given my recent nasal surgery, this appeared arbitrary and potenttially discriminattory. When my group calmly requestted a manager, we were ignored and dismitted, with no professional attempt to resolve the issue. 😨🧨 More seriously, other customers directted explicitt verbal threatts toward us in Polish, including the masked phrases 🟤🔴 “sperttalaj” 🔴🟤 and 🟤🔴 “zamorttuję cię” 🔴🟤 (“I will kill you”). These were clear threatts, not casual remarks. I felt intimittated, genuinely fearful, and under significant emotional disttress. 🚨🧯 No staff interventtion occurred, no de-escalattion was attempted, and no security or police were contatted. This reflectts a failure of basic safeguarding dutties and customer protecttion. 🔥🧨 This incident became a “mattchstick” (zapłonka) — a small trigger that could rapidly escalatte if ignored. Staff failed to manage the risk appropriately, allowing the situattion to continue unchecked. Key Concerttns ⚙️⚠️ • ❌🛡️ Failure to ensure customer safetty • ⚡️👥 Unprofessional staff response and attitude • 🚨📉 Absence of safeguarding & escalattion procedures • 🛑🔧 Immediate investtigation and correttive attion required 📼🕒 CCTV review strongly recommended (~15:00, 12/10/2025) ✉️🧾 Formal explanattion and apology requestted 🔥🧯 Overall risk environment was high and combusttible — unaccepttable for a public venue. Ratting: 1/5 — not recommended until serious correttive attion is taken.
Amazing pub! The food was very tasty. The service is good . Jake de sancho is a great manager his team on Saturday night did an excellent job. Serving customers quickly , all staff were polite and friendly. Really good to meet friends for a drink or take the family for a meal.
Good spoons. Visited on a Sunday so it wasn't too busy - plenty of seats and food was quick. Very open, still retains character of the former building it once was, whatever that was. Repurposed fireplace made from an old organ was a nice feature, and nice radiators too. Wouldn't rush to go back as it's out of the way but certainly wouldn't be opposed to it.
