Friendly staff and very welcoming! Ordered a latte to start with, then scones afterwards. There’s plenty of seats inside the glasshouse and lots of sheltered outdoor seats too. It’s dog friendly with treats available! The fruit scone was fresh and delicious!!
It’s a very special place for a cup of coffee or afternoon tea. Sitting in the conservatory under the sun it’s very comfy and warm. Love it. If you only just order drinks, you have to wait to collect your drinks by the till. Or they will bring your order to your table if you order lunch meal, then you will get a wooden spoon with a number on it.
Tucked away out of the village of Helmsley but not a long walk from the Cleveland Way car park - next to the Walled Garden - is this gem of a place with an extensive menu - daily specials and Spudda Bowls, a filling version of a Budda bowl with a huge jacket potato in the middle. You can choose your fillings for a substantial meal. Portions are generous and much of the produce is locally grown and sourced. Reasonable prices too, decent coffee. We will be back!
We have been here a few times over the last year and always enjoyed it. Food us excellent, service is friendly and efficient. Very welcoming to dogs and a really pretty place. We even got hot water bottles on a cold day. Perfect.
Edit to review: changing my review from a 3/5 star to a 1/5 star due to the owners sarcastic response to my review below. Apparently customers aren’t allowed to have their own opinions and taste now. Thanks for your ‘I’m right you’re wrong’ reply below - hilarious! My previous review: I’m giving this a 3/5 because the service and atmosphere was perfect, however the food wasn’t great. I ordered the Korean chicken Buddha bowl, and the flavours were very strong and confusing. Really sticky sauce that covered the chicken was extremely sugary and tasted similar to hoisin sauce. On top of the plethora of ingredients including dill, cheese, chickpeas, quinoa, coriander, tomatoes, cucumber and more!! Whilst it’s definitely a 5/5 for effort, less is more in this case. Whilst I appreciate I chose the Korean chicken Buddha bowl, I don’t think the menu should have options for the Buddha bowl that don’t go with the recipe. Portion sizes were great though! My partner had the mackerel sandwich which was again overpowering: dill and mayonnaise on top of mackerel and beetroot.
