Spice 4 u

Fairly nice little spot. Eat a lot of curry all over the country so have reasonably high standards. This place was pleasant food, good spice levels, typical look of a curry house but a little shabby. Ordered the 42. Helmsley spice special, 43. Lahori Korai, both chicken, cheese naan, keema aloo & pilau rice which did turn up as keema rice. All good dishes. Spicy & full of flavour.

Excellent, very tasty and they didn't skimp on portions, recommend!

This evening my wife and I had the pleasure to dine at the Spice4U new Asian restaurant in Helmsley. You could describe us a retired professionals, (very) well travelled and 'comfortable' if you get my drift. We are visiting Helmsley for a couple of night and fancied a change. We have been fortunate to have experienced an amazing range of food, restaurants and service at a spectrum of restaurants from Michelin Star to Street Food. Our meal experience tonight could be described as outstanding: Service: The staff work as a team and their shared goal is to make sure all customers have the best meal possible and an enjoyable experience. They fell over themselves to help with menu selection, follow up checking re enjoyment and standards, and little touches which collectively could be called 'the icing on the cake' of any restaurant experience. The staff were experienced and many had high-end qualifications to their name; they worked as a family and community unit. They fell over each other trying to serve us, throughout the meal. Nothing was too much trouble...in contrast to other (occasionally) disinterested, perfunctory, clock watching, restaurant staff who's heart isn't in their job...elsewhere: These boys are keen to please, enthusiastic and give their best. Food: The choice from the menu was extensive and each course arrived piping hot and most of all, the staff collectively orchestrated the meals to arrive at the right moment, when we were ready. They consulted us at each stage of the meal. Drinks amazingly arrived within seconds of ordering; empty plates were politely cleared away; cutlery was replaced; fresh napkins appeared from nowhere. Each dish whether popadom/dips, starter or main was amazingly fresh, perfectly cooked and balanced re spices and ingredients. The chefs know what they're doing and obviously work to high personal and professional standards...above all, the food is authentic and very good. So, best of fortune Spice4U. Thank you for a great final night before we return home tomorrow. And yes we have no vested interest in this restaurant, but would be regular customers if we lived nearer. Managed to fit us in without booking. Service was quick. Staff welcoming. Food delicious. Good value too. Will not hesitate to eat here again when we visit Helmsley.

Fantastic food. Everything was delicious. The only reason not given 5 stars for service is because they were a bit slow to acknowledge our arrival. Highly recommend
