Excellent place to park and within a few minutes walk to the centre of Helmsley village centre where there are plenty of eateries...cafes...bakers ..pubs...cafes .. Restaurants...gift shops and more The entrance to Helmsley castle is along this pathway too...well worth a visit....
Great car park, clean toilets nearby. Unfortunately to little parking spots for a town this touristy. We drove around for quite a while before we found a legal car space.
At last a council who thinks and acts with common sense. People who want to walk the Cleveland Way need to park their cars safely. This ticks all the boxes. Nicely out of the way, nicely in the center of Helmsley. I just wish other long distance path councils would follow, it would improve tourism and improve their towns.
Good to know these toilets are there, especially when heading to/from Scarborough. Appeared to be very clean although the internal roof needs fixing. Current opening times as of March 2024 are 6am to 6pm.
