The Helmsley Retreat

Just returned from another visit to Helmsley retreat, it is a mews cottage, small, but makes the most of every bit of space. The interiors are cozy, stylish and spotless, everything you need for a comfortable getaway. The spa garden with its sauna and hot tub is a real highlight, making it extra special. It is dog friendly, which is such a rare find when looking for somewhere luxurious ( ‘dog friendly ‘ accommodation is usually a bit basic in our experience) We hope to be back again soon.

The Helmsley Retreat is a lovely property to stay in. Located just 5 minutes walk into Helmsley itself, in a very quiet cul de sac. The property was absolutely spotless when we arrived, with a very welcome pack containing some fresh bread, tea bags, ground coffee, two bottles of bear and even doggies treats for our furry friend. It has everything needed for a stay, including maps and information on walks round Helmsley. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there despite having some bad weather but we were warm in the cottage. Highly likely we will return in the near future.

What an awesome cottage..... The cottage itself is presented very beautifully and pristinely clean. The welcome pack is a lovely touch..fresh bread, milk,crisps and ground coffee..even treats included for our dog!!!! Lola was very impressed!!... absolutely everything has been thought about by the owners Tom and Agnes who couldn't be more accommodating throughout the booking process. The cottage is so homely, warm and inviting, our children Amber 4 and Will 8 did not want to leave and believe me they are awkward critters. The hot tub and sauna are amazing just wow, again spotlessly clean and perfect for a relaxing break away. We dropped on superb weather which added to the experience and with Helmsley just a 5 min walk it was perfect for little legs . We will 100% be visiting again .

We stayed between Christmas and new year. The retreat was lovely, a nice welcome basket and Christmas tree. The hot tub and sauna made it extra special. The house was clean and tidy and warm when we arrived. Helmsley is a gorgeous little village and a short walk from the house. We visited York and Robin hood bay whilst there. The communication was excellent, we were a little worried before going as it has just been sold the week before but we didn't need to as everything was perfect. We will definitely go back. A really pleasant base from which to explore the local area. Throughly enjoyed staying at the Helmsley Retreat. Very clean, tidy and well equipped cottage.
