Kings Head Hotel

My husband and I stayed at the Kingshead situated right in the centre. Accommodation was lovely and comfortable. They catered for my disability. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Bed very comfy. We had BB & evening meal. Food was very tasty fresh and hot. I loved the authentic ambience and felt very relaxed. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we will be returning.

My husband and I went in for a lunch alongside our toddler. We picked a nice quiet spot in their courtyard garden which was very pleasant. We ordered a roast each and it was delicious- one of the best roast dinners we’ve had in Yorkshire. The meat was tender on both the pork and beef and lots of fresh well cooked vegetables. They also kindly gave our son a Yorkshire pudding to try. The service was extremely friendly and we will definitely return. Highly recommended.

After reading good reviews we were looking forward to our stay. Knew it was an old building but can't understand how it had been awarded a 4*. It was scruffy. The furniture dominated the room which left little space to walk around the bed. No room for a seat. No teaspoons and one biscuit to share. The bathroom was large with a kidney shaped dresser with stained cloth under the glass cover. No extractor fan but an open skylight. Peeling wallpaper. Broken chain on plug and one plastic cup. 20 minute wait for breakfast, although we were the only ones in the dining room, which was passable.

In the market square, went in for a meal. We were made to feel welcome and water and treats were provided for our dog. Which was lovely. The food was promptly served and was delicious and hot.

Having holidayed in Cornwall for the past few years what a pleasure it was to be greeted by a friendly helpful young man. He couldn’t have been more help, we had a good home cooked meal in pleasant surroundings. But the major difference was the staff brilliant hospitality thank you
