Saltbox Gallery is a real treasure in the heart of Helmsley! It has a fantastic selection of artists, with an inspiring mix of mediums and colours — from vibrant paintings to beautiful ceramics and glasswork. I love that there’s something for every budget, whether you’re picking up a unique card or gift, or investing in a striking garden sculpture. The space is well-curated without feeling crowded, and it’s a pleasure to browse. A must-visit for anyone who enjoys art, creativity, and finding something truly special.
A fabulous gallery run by very lovely people. A diverse selection of work and many walks/other galleries and nice places to eat nearby. As an exhibiting artist, the owners are exceptionally helpful to work with and there is always a joyful atmosphere when I visit - thank you!
This is one of the best arts and crafts/gift shops I’ve ever been to. The layout is just right and the goods are beautifully hand crafted and displayed. I bought two wonderful pink glass shells which look great in my seaside themed bedroom. Lovely to meet you! Greetings from Sue in Sheffield. X
There’s always something gorgeous to find in the Saltbox. The new owners have put a lot of thought into the new artwork, sculptures, pottery, jewellery and stationery that they are now stocking. Everything is carefully curated, but not stuffy and covers all budgets. Very worth dropping in for a peek and a natter with the lovely team.
