A very serene and beautiful garden against the backdrop of Helmsley castle! We parked the car at Cleveland Way car park (£6 for 6 hours), so had plenty of time to explore! The clouds came over which meant we popped into the cafe for coffee and scones for a bit! The glasshouse was converted into an interesting cafe with plenty of fixtures to create interests all around! When the sun finally broke through, it was so pleasant to walk round! There’s still some remaining spring flowers dotted about which added splashes of colour amongst the greenery. It’s completely dog friendly in all areas which was so nice! She got a treat when we purchased the ticket which she loved, thank you!!

Beautiful gardens with a great variety of flowers on show. It was a little expensive to get in for the size of the actual gardens (hence the 4/5). The food and service in the cafe were excellent

This is a wonderful place to visit if you're in the area. A glorious restored garden you could spend hours in & getting ideas for your own garden, or just enjoying he tranquility, the scents, and the colours. Refreshments are available at the tea room, and it lovely to sit outside on a sunny day - beware of all the small birds right beneath your table, looking for crumbs ! The entrance fee also allows you to enter free if you return within 12 months.

A wonderful walled garden. From the outside it does not look big but the walled garden is huge. Greenhouses, kitchen gardens, orchard and a beautiful central border section, this is done by volunteers. £10 entry and £11 with gift aid. Other ticket options available but see the website. On site cafe available to. You can also buy fruit and veg grown for a donation. Plenty in August / Sept / Oct. See the ticket office on arrival. Allow several hours and take a picnic. No onsite parking but a 5 minute walk there is a pay and display which is also for the castle.
