Helmsley Open Air Swimming Pool

Lovely pool nestled in beautiful countryside, friendly staff, comes equipped with kiosk selling drinks and snacks, changing rooms and sauna. Heated to a perfect temperature throughout the summer months, and then gradually cooled and available for cold water swims. A perfect place for a relaxing, peaceful swim, walking distance from Helmsley.

A fantastic outdoor pool with incredible views. We’ve been twice, and it never disappoints. I recommend booking tickets online because, upon arrival, every session is sold out, so it’s unlikely you’ll get tickets at the door. Pack a picnic and make a day of it! 🧜‍♀️💫

This is a lovely little outdoor heated pool; we've visited a few times now over the last few years. Booking is required as there's a limited number of people allowed in due to its size. Once in, you're free to dip in and out of the pool as you wish as there are chairs and tables to sit at and a small selection of drinks are available from the kiosk. There are two outdoor showers for after swim. The pool offers moonlight and meteor swims which we'd really like to get to at some point. For those folk not quite ready for "wild"swimming this is an excellent in between with lifeguards on duty.

Lovely pool, out in the countryside. Nice small town. The pool is community run, clean, organised and the staff are great. The water is heated to take the sting out the outdoor setting but it's definitely NOT bath warm! 🙂 Priced just right, but best to book a session online if the weather is good.

Really sad to say I've been made to feel less than welcome on my last few visits. From being sold coffee and just as we were sitting to drink it being told we had 4 minutes to vacate before the next session, yet in that time frame more coffee was sold and those people told there was no rush to leave. Filling cold water into the pool aimed at the middle of a busy lane making it unavoidable and unpleasant to swim through.
