So cool!! What an awesome experience. Leave 2-3 hours to enjoy it properly. There are 2/3 shows a day. Each show is about an hour, we stayed for two, one at 2pm and one at 4:15pm. Depending on the weather different birds are flown. Expect owls if it’s bad weather, raptors in the windy weather and eagles in the sunshine! The staff clearly know their stuff and the birds are so impressive, there is also a cute little cafe and a picnic area. It’s a 12 minute, very pretty walk, a little uphill from the town through a park. Great for families but also for adults. 10/10

An excellent surprise, didn't know about the bird sanctuary until came across by chance. Well worth the visit, great selection of birds many perched out side so can get great pictures and the Flying demonstration was well run and informed, as I said highly recommend. Easy to locate and the paths around the sanctuary are good and easy to navigate, my wife has a bad hip but managed to get around well, the on site cafe, shop and facilities are good also.

Great place set within beautiful grounds, with Helmsley Castle just next door. We did the Hawk Hike, lovely to be with the Harris hawk so close-up, with a gentle stroll through the woods. In the main centre there are so many different birds to see, and displays three times a day where you get to see them flying around. It wasn't "too" busy either, so it is pleasant to go around without masses of people everywhere. Cafe is also reasonable, good for lunch, drinks and snacks. We spent around six hours there!

Amazing selection of birds of prey. Excellent information and knowledge shared about the birds and the flying displays were spot on. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable day.
