⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆☆☆☆ (6/10) Me and the wife decided to share a romantic fish supper at Holywell Green’s chippy 2 fish, 1 chips, 1 peas (proper fine dining, Yorkshire style 💁‍♂️🐟🍟). First impressions: the fish looked like it had been bronzed for display in a seaside museum. Sadly, when I tucked in, the batter turned out to be more “sloppy slipper” than “crispy crunch.” Greasy enough to lube a bike chain. 🚲💦 Chips? Pretty decent. A bit on the scrappy side, like the last kids picked for football, but they held their own. Peas had a good colour thankfully not that nuclear Hulk green you sometimes get but saltier than a fisherman who’s just lost his best net. 🧂😅 Overall? About the same as most other local chippies. Filled a hole, but didn’t quite reel me in. 🎣 6/10 would eat again if hungry, but I won’t be writing home about it.

Don’t listen to other reviews. Traditional fish and chips at their best. Great place to go to support a local community eatery. If you want posh jock go to a slap up restaurant…this humble “chippy” serves us great traditional fish and chips and we appreciate you

Quality Fish and Chips at great prices! Proper decent Fish Shop! They were ready to close up but still put the fish and sausage in made to order. Fish was tender and good quality with excellent batter. Chips were cooked perfect and the Curry sauce was how we like it. Teacakes were massive and fresh. Very polite staff and great service! Really enjoyed the food!

Just recently opened but these people know what they are doing. Quality fish and chips cooked in the traditional way at a reasonable price. Haven't enjoyed fish n chips with bits (or scraps) as much as this for a long time. I would highly recommend. Keep up the good work. Also very friendly and chatty.
