Carousel Amusements is open Monday to Thursday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Children's Soft Play and Amusement Centre A range of Inflatables, Toddler Soft Play and some small slides and some Arcade machines. Arcade centre in the adjoining building, and cafe beyond. Price (adults free) - £4 per child all day, child's hand is stamped, I understand you can come and go (don't wash off the stamp) Accessibility - slight ramp at the main entrance Security - all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult: ~ No wrist bands ~ A small wooden gate into the play area which has no catch and does not automatically close, so keep an eye on your children. ~ Due to equipment being inflatables, you cannot see all areas, so move around if your child needs more watching. Adult areas - bench tables and seats around the floor. Adults are not allowed on the inflatables! Car parking - pay and display next to the Centre or free on street parking towards the town. Food and drinks - you can bring your own, if you go through the amusement arcade next door, beyond that is a small cafe, ask for a takeout to bring back. Toilet - a new toilet for the disabled has been installed, the day we were there the high chairs were in the passage to the toilet, they said this was not usual and would look into it.
Nice clean cafe, well worth a visit if you go to the sea front
Cafe Carousel has recently reopened (2025) and is a great stop for a simple bite to eat, especially if you have kids and/or dogs. On a warm day you can sit outside and you have a view of the sea. The food is very reasonably priced and the coffee is much improved. Friendly staff make this a classic traditional seaside cafe, the way life used to be.
Machines don't seem to be set up fairly. Difficult to judge right time to put coins in. Last time we visited, toys were worth winning but this time absolute rubbish toys and little packets of sweets that you could buy cheaper in a shop. Wouldn't bother going to this particular establishment again.
A very enjoyable addition to Hornsea. Games, rides and gambling machines in a large arcade. A cafe on one side and the activity play centre on the other make this an ideal place for many to pass their time. A Pay and Display car park is just beyond the cafe.
