Hovingham Village Hall

Great village facility in a really pretty village. We went to the monthly artisan makers market, 1st Saturday of the month. Lovely stalls with handmade items, probably 30-35 in total. Some of the stall holders were friendly (wood turner man at the entrance, bespoke patchwork woman, pottery lady and recycled/upcycled gentleman inside), but most were a bit stand offish, surprisingly: whether we’d caught them late on (it closes at 1.30, be warned), I don’t know. Hot drinks and light refreshments in the hall itself were appreciated. If you want something a bit different and want to talk to the maker, it is worth going, but go closer to the 10.30 start time would be my advice. Plenty of car parking opposite the hall for the market goers.

Fabulous Saturday market. Good variety of stalls from crafts to fresh foods. A good cafe indoors and parking nearby in the village. Bakery, cafes and pubs as well make it an excellent location for easy to moderate walking.

It's a good, specious, tidy hall with the parking spaces round it which is very helpful. Unfortunately people can park there for a day even if they're not hall users so sometimes when we arrive for our play session there are no spaces and we have to park on the road and then carry the little one there which can be inconvenient.

Visited the market and had tea and a bacon sandwich in the hall. Both were excellent! Hall is warm, clean, neat. Facilities and people were great too!

Love going here on Market days. Great service and selection of home produced goods.
