An unforgettable evening at the Candlelight Concert. Surrounded by hundreds of glowing candles in a stunning historic hall, the live music was simply magical. The atmosphere was warm, romantic, and truly breathtaking
it was lovely to have the opportunity to spend time in this magnificent building. I would have liked to have spent more time exploring.
Very good. Vocal acoustic poor.
Attended an event relating to small business start ups. The building is full of history and the room was lovely. A great venue around.
This is hull's forth Guildhall. The first was used in 1332, the second a two-story building was built in the 1630s demolished in 1805. The third Guildhall was built in the Renaissance style in the1860s, that was demolished and the fourth built between 1906 and 1914 on the same site. The clock from the Old Town Hall was moved into the new building, And the top of the tower is now in Pearson Park. Behind the Guildhall is a memorial to the international brigade who volunteered to fight in the 1936 Spanish Civil War. There is an inscription in the main entrance to the Guildhall with names of men from Hull who volunteered.
