The Brain Jar

Its a small downstairs bar serving a range of original and different cocktails and snaks, with 2 medium rooms on the first floor for a more secluded meal. The vibe is brilliant as are the staff and owner. Its busy and fills quick, meaning you have to wait to get in. This is good as it prevents overcrowding and the potential for people to bump each other. There is art work from local artists including painted walls !! That change periodically. The music was good and not too loud, the food, we had pizza and olives and both was gorgeous. Big juicy olives that were not acidic, the pizza was amazing. Cocktails are strong, Nuff said there. Had a brilliant time in there and highly recommend. People on the next table said there food was fantastic too, so i grabbed some cheeky pics. Fantastic place.

We popped in here just before we went for food somewhere else in town, really wish we had come in earlier as only had chance to have one cocktail. Both our cocktails were amazing, as good as we have had in Hull. Services top notch, great staff and so attentive. We will be back soon for more and really want to try the food! Absolutely fabulous all round 🩵

Popped in on a dreary rainy day. Place was busy as anything and lively but managed to get squeezed in without any issue. If you can't see any seats, downstairs, there is room upstairs. I was immediately greeted and directed to a table and then again welcomed by the waitress upstairs. She was very pleasant and friendly. She sorted out some water for the table and let me crack on with the menus. I decided on the Passion Fruit Caipirinha. It was full of flavour and boozy. If you like your cocktails with a punch, this one is great. I went with the Yazzmatazz pizza for my meal. I was unsure on the honey mustard and asked if it could be a small amount. The waitress agreed but then came up with the idea of having it on the side in a bowl so that I can try it and add as much or little as I wanted and I'm really glad she did. The pizza tasted decent, the toppings nice and I love a good jam, such as the Jalapeno jam. Tried the honey mustard, liked it and added it to the pizza and oh my god it was so good. One of the best things I've eaten in a while and one of the best pizzas I've had end of. They've set the bar and I hope the other pizzas can match how good that one is. The food, service, and venue are all great. Definitely going to be returning as there's plenty of options with both food and drinks to try.

Such a chill place for a drink, helped me pick between a few choices I had, so helpful and friendly. Got some cheeky pretzels too!
