Since changing the chef, not only has the portion and taste been greatly improved, but the price is cheaper than before. And you can book in advance what Chinese food you want to eat by saying the name!!
All three dishes we ordered are nice. My toddler enjoys her beef Udon. The other two dishes are hotpot potato and pork belly &Sizzling Spicy fish. Super!
We were interested in going to Jiu Jiu but had read a review on here saying it had permanently closed as they couldn’t find the place. We decided to take a walk down any way. It’s not closed. It’s situated inside the Old Zoological pub. Food was amazing. Best Chinese inspired food in Hull by a country mile for as far back as I can remember being here which is over 3 decades. So much to choose from on the menu and thanks to the owner for his recommendation which meant I was able to try something new and thanks to the waitress who was also helpful and attentive. Pictured here crispy chicken sweet and sour with a great house special fried rice. The depth of flavour in this sweet and sour sauce was something I hadn’t experienced before. The only thing I would prefer to see is Jiu Jiu find its own establishment to get the full experience. I had honestly given up trying to find good Chinese food in Hull so this was a wonderful surprise. Incredible, well done and thank goodness for that. Get yourself down and support this restaurant.
Visited here with my wife and toddler last month when we wanted some food before visiting the deep. Great authentic Chinese food , the beef udon was great. Service and atmosphere nice too. I would recommend visiting and trying this chinese food place, it's situated inside a pub.
A perfect meal in an unexpected place! Enormous portions, huge menu and wonderful staff. An A la carte meal inside a bustling pub!
