Let's get one thing straight - it's fast food. There are no Michelin stars expected. But... it is (currently) a marked step up from the McMess available from the place over the road. The burgers do look good, and have fresh salad in them. Not the limp lettuce and sliver of squashed tomato often found in these kind of establishments . Even the chips were good. If I remember correctly, I just had the basic cheeseburger meal, with a nice mocha (no upcharge for a lot of the drinks, which was refreshing). The only negative was that on this occasion the music was overly loud. It was lunchtime on a Tuesday and almost empty, with just me, and a family with annoyingly shrieking kids running wild (I almost chose takeout). I suspect the music was the staff's ploy to drown that out, as it was fine on a previous visit.
My recent visit to Wendy's in Hull offered a mixed bag experience. On the plus side, the food itself was undeniably tasty. My burger was juicy and flavourful, and the fries were crisp and well-seasoned. In terms of value, I'd say it sits comfortably in the "okay" range – not the cheapest fast food option, but certainly not overpriced for the quality of the main items. However, the service left something to be desired. While the order was prepared quickly, a significant oversight occurred. Several items from the order, specifically the drinks, a Frosty ice cream, and a portion of chicken nuggets, were missing. This was particularly disappointing as it was part of an order for an older person, and the missing items were key to their enjoyment. To their credit, when the discrepancy was pointed out, the staff member promptly rectified the mistake and provided the missing items. While this resolution was appreciated, the initial error detracted from the overall experience. Overall, Wendy's in Hull delivers on flavour, but attention to detail in order fulfillment needs improvement. While the tasty food and acceptable value might tempt me back, I'll certainly be double-checking my order before leaving next time.
Made me feel physically sick opening my order to this monstrosity. This was supposed to be a chilli cheese potato, but looks half eaten and put under a tap. Absolutely disgusting, out of pocket now as I didn’t want to drive all that way back. Not happy at all!!!! Edit: you’ve told me to go to that link but conveniently it’s out of order at the minute. And after writing the experience and losing it all I won’t be writing it again. You have my email on here so you can sort this out
EDIT Wendy's reached out to say contact us we will make things right, I contacted them and they ignored me. Out of interested I recently visited to see if they had improved on the safety here, its exactly the same filthy death trap. I regret to say that I have had to change my five-star review since my initial visit. Unfortunately, the soft play area is a danger to children's safety, and I hope this franchise takes immediate action after reviewing my concerns. When we asked if we could enter the soft play area after our meal, we were told it was open. However, all the lights were turned off, including the emergency exits, which were not lit up. The area was filthy, with mould in the seating area and mud scattered throughout the soft play zone. Most alarming was a tear above the slide, posing a significant risk as children could climb on top and potentially suffer life-changing injuries. Additionally, all the safety zips were open and damaged, allowing children access to restricted areas. The area was also littered with food waste. While the food was excellent, these safety and hygiene issues are unacceptable. If these problems are addressed, I will update this review. However, as it stands, I advise anyone with children to avoid the soft play area. Please see attached pictures for reference.
Good was ok usual burger place I found the kids area fine the little ones was having a great time until loads of teenagers piled in although it does have height restrictions. Instead of the staff coming in and telling the older ones to get out they just closed the arcade which is unfair to the little ones who wanted to play in the soft play. Places should employ staff who are willing to tell them they are to big and to get out instead of just closing it . So for that reason atmospher gets no stars
