I was with this practice for over ten years and although there are some lovely individual members of staff and the out of hours staff from orchard park are excellent there are also some incredibly rude and dismissive staff at the practice. Recently I had a referral for a condition from my new practice and upon reading the referral letter all my ‘significant medical history’ was wrong. Three conditions listed that I don’t have and this was all digitised by James Alexander. The new practice checked my original records to confirm this. Obviously this was extremely misleading and for some patients could be dangerous. So I would recommend patients at this practice ask to check their digital records are correct.
Had an appointment today got to the lift and lots of people waiting which I took to the stairs which was an effort , so by the time I got to the second floor I was out of breath when I got to the reception desk the young girl looked at me as if I had two heads !! I said sorry just need to get my breath , she was looking at me as if I was annoying her , I said I have an appointment at this time Her reply was” just sit down “with an attitude, So I just walked away in disgust then she shout YOUR WELCOME I just shook my head and thought does she speak to all the patients like that absolutely disgusting what I vile person to have on a reception desk.. suppose this is the future of customer service!! Her attitude speaks for the type of person she is especially when’s she working !!
Just wanted to say a big thank you to Holly. She was really helpful on the phone the other day when I needed my diabetic eye screening report for the optician—she sent it over quickly and was both professional and friendly. She was also great at reception today. Much appreciated!
Appalling service since they took over the princes Avenue practice in Hull. Had numerous emails with the “Patient Experience Team” no better than the rude receptionist who the experience team when I complained to them said, you won’t hear any more about this. We’ll recommend they are retrained. I can tell you, it’s not a great experience. Find another practice if you can.
First the good news.., found that certain health professionals and receptionists provide an excellent service, they are indeed professional and provide essential work. That does not remove the fact that their working practices are undermined by more senior people, unfortunately the practice clearly needs more practice to improve. The decent staff and health professionals are let down by some senior staff/management who, although they were initially generally helpful, have become increasingly dismissive to a point of totally ignoring the enquiries and concerns of patients, this is first hand experience. Seems the sworn duties of care must be quite selective or perhaps only given lip service to the ethics of the Hippocratic Oath and the Florence Nightingale Pledge. Maybe things can improve, hopefully time will shift the quality of service for the better.
