Remarkable medical professionals make remarkable support to the greater community. Happy to be a part of this Great Community.
I was admitted to the Hull Royal a couple of days ago. To my surprise, a few of us were seated waiting hours and hours for a bed however, the Staff [ALL] were exceptionally helpful, compassionate and worked as a team to make our wait comfortable. Once I was located a room. Nothing changed. The service was 100%. The only change was, I met the DOCTORS who attended to me. Again, TOP Professional service. Compassionate, Warm. In general: Clean hospital, a warm lunch was served, rounds of beverags. NO complaints at all from me. (And I am extremely cautious and picky.) Hands up for NHS HULL ROYAL STAFF. Many thanks for the exceptional service.: A&E : Dr on duty All A&E support and porters Dale Turner: On ward 5 Regards Elizabeth Westen-lelei
Review of Hull Royal Infirmary β Exceptional Care at Every Level I was recently admitted to Hull Royal Infirmary with pneumonia, having been taken in by ambulance following a 111 call β and I want to express my heartfelt thanks for the outstanding care I received at every stage of my journey. From the initial call to 111, through to the arrival of the paramedics, I was treated with professionalism, urgency, and kindness. The ambulance crew were calm, reassuring, and highly competent. On arrival at the hospital, I was seen in both the Minors and Majors departments, where the care was swift, thorough, and delivered with genuine compassion. I was then transferred to the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and later to Ward 5, where the same high standard of care continued throughout my stay. What truly stood out was the dedication of every member of staff β not only the doctors, nurses, and healthcare assistants, but also the cleaners, porters, catering staff, and consultants. Each played a vital role in maintaining a safe, supportive, and respectful environment. Meals were delivered with a smile, and the medical care was second to none. The consultants took time to explain things clearly and check in regularly, while the nursing and support teams consistently went above and beyond. The combination of clinical expertise and genuine humanity made a huge difference to my recovery. At every stage, I felt I was in safe hands, treated not just as a patient, but as a person. Thank you to everyone at Hull Royal Infirmary for your incredible work. You made a very difficult experience more bearable, and Iβm truly grateful.
On Tuesday 9th December 2025 I attended my doctors n had an ECG done i was immediately sent with a letter to A&E....the staff on reception were under pressure with the mass of people attending that didn't need to be there. The staff were excellent and on waiting I had another ECG and the results showed I have an irregular heart beat...the doctors n nurses were very thorough and understanding...I know the NHS is under pressure and gets criticized alot but my experience with excellent and these staff need a pat on the back... Many Thanks π
I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment with the Royal Infirmary at Hull's handling of my colleague's medical emergency. Despite his repeated calls to the hospital earlier in the day, reporting severe symptoms, his concerns were downplayed and dismissed. Tragically, his condition deteriorated, and he collapsed while on his way to the hospital. It was only by chance that a passing ambulance crew found him and provided immediate attention, saving his life. The ambulance staff were exceptional, but the hospital's failure to take my colleague's initial calls seriously is inexcusable. This experience raises serious questions about the hospital's triage protocol and their handling of emergency situations. It is unacceptable that my colleague's pleas for help were ignored until it was almost too late. I hope the hospital will conduct a thorough investigation into this incident and take necessary steps to improve their emergency response procedures. Until then, I would advise others to be cautious and persistent when seeking medical help. Yes! the one star is for the ambience!
