We recently visited Medivet Sutton on Hull for a second opinion after our previous vet of three years couldn’t offer any further help with our dog’s ongoing allergy issues. From the moment we met Anna, we were incredibly impressed. She went above and beyond anything we’d experienced before — doing more in one appointment than our old vet had done in years. She was friendly, professional, and explained everything clearly to both me and my partner, making the whole situation easy to understand. Thanks to Anna’s knowledge, care, and the time she took with us, we’ve decided to fully move over to Medivet and have already requested to see her specifically at our next appointment. We’re genuinely grateful for the level of service we received.

I'll leave the facts here and let them speak for themselves. Ten weeks ago I took my dog here with suspected BOAS. We saw a different vet every time and each one had no clue of his previous history often. They refused him steroids until he could have a CT scan, he nearly died so was hospitalised due to them not listening to us over at least 8 appointments about his breathing, we even showed videos of respiratory distress and was sent home with him many times. Finally he was given steroids, but with zero antacid which is protocol for any steroids. He had three appointments over the past two weeks plus one telephone consultation, all appointments we was told stomach ulcer, yet they still failed to recommend any antacid till two days ago and didn't suggest tapering the steroids till I requested it. I took him back to vets yesterday as no improvement, vet was shown image of my dogs poo which clearly showed a life threatening emergency. He wasn't eating or drinking, could barely walk and had a temp. He died about 8 hours later at home . We found him during the night in a pool of his blood from the ulcer bursting and possibly sepsis given his temperature. This is absolutely shocking treatment for any animal, this place has no continuity and the animals care is overlooked and mistakes are made. I will be taking this further as I specifically requested the CT scan to investigate BOAS, I was never given the full CT report just told he had rhynitis. The CT report I requested yesterday clearly says my dog has BOAS, I had asked for BOAS surgery at his first appointment. Dogs with BOAS are more at risk to rhynitis, having the surgery would have opened his airways and made him less susceptible to infection or the need for steroids. Having the antacid with the steroids would protected his stomach lining and made him less susceptible to an ulcer. They failed my beautiful boy in every way and now my 13 year old son found his beloved pet dog in a pool of blood this morning.

Large practice good location. Facilities are good some difficulty with insurance claim but sorted eventually. Very odd appointment text reminders. No confirmation texts sent when appointments made would be good to have a reminder 48 hours before arrival.

Brought my 9 week old kitten in for her first consultation today and the vet she seen was absolutely lovely. Such a beautiful vets inside and out. Really lovely secluded area. Really spacious and clean. Lovely staff. My kitten had her first vaccinations and flea and worming treatment and they was brilliant with her. Signed up to the care plan which is really affordable for the services you get! Looking forward to coming back with my little furball 🥰
