The latest in my series of looking for the best Sunday roast in the East Riding. The restaurant itself is tucked away in a lovely part of Hull near the Minster so well worth getting there a few minutes early and having a stroll around. The greeting was great. We were 10 mins early so had a quick drink downstairs before being seated. The dining area is really nice, split into a couple of rooms and has a real nice atmosphere. Now the food. As the venue is above a bakery they give you some complementary sourdough and focaccia to munch whilst you decide on the menu. We had the sourdough and held back on the focaccia to have later. Spoiler, we never did as we were too full. We toyed with the two course Sunday roast menu, but decided to skip starters and get the shared roast first and decide later if we wanted desert. Second spoiler, we didn't have desert as we were too full. Onto the main event - The food started to arrive and then it kept coming and coming and coming and coming. The sharing roast had the lot - pork, beef and chicken with fantastic crackling. There were the obligatory huge Yorkies, roasties, pigs in blankets, veg, cauliflower cheese and, unexpectedly, beef patties and buttermilk fried chicken thighs, a whole table-full of food. ALL of the food was fantastic. The beef was melt in the mouth, the chicken was tender, the pork was juicy, the patties and buttermilk chicken were delicious, the roasties were lovely, I could go on and on but would be writing for another 30 minutes. The gravy was delicious and had the floating bits from the roasting pan juices that all proper gravy should have. There was so much food that we bagged up some and took it home so not to waste it. Then there were the staff. The main server was a joy; she was so helpful when we had questions and just a genuinely lovely person. She made you feel relaxed and really welcome. The other staff we spoke to were also excellent. every one of them was friendly and looking to help. I cannot recommend Hearth enough - great location, great atmosphere, great food, LOTS of food, great staff all making for a very pleasant Sunday.

We are regulars of this restaurant. I am not the person that leaves a review too often. Everything is impeccable!! Tonight though i had the best meal, the best service, the best atmosphere of my entire life! I can not describe in words how was everything tonight! I felt like i was in Paris!!! We had the Chateaubriand cut alongside with the kale and fried garlic and some potatoes. Have you ever seen in movies the scenario when you taste food and close your eyes and all of the tastes combine and you feel love and hear orchestra? This is what happened! Me and my fiancee lived in a movie! I truly recommend this restaurant! All staff are amazing and extremely professional! Loved everything!

Little visit to one of my favourite cities for photography. Discovered Hearth for a bit of breakfast. Coffee, a latte, was lovely. The almond croissant I ordered to accompany it was absolutely amazing. Staff were great and the price was worthy of the quality. I will return!

We arrived on time for our Sunday lunch and were taken to our table. Opposite was a large family group of c10 or 12 which should have set alarm bells ringing. Our order for food and drink was taken promptly with breads, butter and olives for my GF husband brought to the table. It took over an hour from being seated to getting our main course. When the main course did eventually arrive the main dish (roast pork for me, lamb for my husband was warm not hot) The extra servings of veg and gravy took a few more minutes to arrive. My husband's lamb was nicely cooked (pink) but there was no crispy belly as advertised on the menu. My roast pork had no crackling but came with a Yorkshire pudding which I didn't eat. The roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese were excellent. The roasted root veg and greens were cooked to perfection. The onion gravy was hot and tasty. I enjoyed my smoked salmon starter with blood orange. Whilst the waiting staff were cheerful and attentive I felt the food intolerance considerations for my husband were managed in a somewhat hit and miss way as a number of waiting staff and the maitre d' were dealing with our order. For 2 drinks, a bottle of fizzy water and starters and mains for 2 people we paid Β£101. Whilst the food was well cooked and flavoursome I am not sure the overall experience was worth the money spent. Overall we would rate as 3.5 stars and would probably choose other venues in future in preference. In the end we felt somewhat rushed as we were attending a concert in the City Hall and had to curtail our restaurant visit to get to the concert in time.

What a fantastic place this is, Sunday lunch for us and your best to book as it is popular. Set menu of 2 or 3 courses but the choice and variety is excellent. Flavours were amazing and the service was excellent too. Can’t wait to go back and try the other options I missed out on today
