Thinking about what to do with the family over the long Easter weekend and the school holidays can feel like a bit of a puzzle. Finding somewhere that pleases everyone, from the pickiest young eater to the grown-up who fancies something a bit special, isn't always easy. But it looks like Piccolino has it sorted this spring. They're rolling out a brilliant plan for the Easter break that combines a proper feast with a strong family focus, all served up in a relaxed Italian style. There’s a whole host of new spring dishes, a comeback for the classic Sunday roast, and some fantastic family-friendly activities that will keep everyone happy.

A proper sunday roast, but make it Italian

Let's be honest, a long bank holiday weekend isn't complete without a proper Sunday roast. It’s practically a British law. Piccolino is bringing back its much-loved Sunday roast, and not just for Easter Sunday, but for the Bank Holiday Monday too. So that’s two chances to get your roast dinner fix. The choices are exactly what you’d hope for: herb-roasted chicken, roast beef rump, or a slow-roasted pork belly. There's also a vegan nut roast, so nobody gets left out. Of course, they all come with the essential trimmings – golden roast potatoes, maple-glazed carrots, braised red cabbage, seasonal greens, and massive Yorkshire puddings, all swimming in rich gravy.

But for Easter, they’re adding something extra special to the menu. In a nod to the season, a succulent seasonal lamb roast will be making an appearance. This special addition is only available on Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday, making it the perfect centrepiece for a family feast. It’s the ideal way to gather everyone around the table for a meal that feels both traditional and a little bit fancy, all with that signature Piccolino Italian style. It’s a great chance to enjoy a classic without any of the washing-up. This is more than just a meal; it's a celebration of the long weekend.

Spring has sprung on the new menu

As soon as the calendar flips to April, the menu at Piccolino is getting a fresh spring makeover. Starting from the 1st of April, a whole new range of seasonal specials will be available, and they sound incredible. These new spring dishes are all about celebrating fresh, vibrant flavours. The menu kicks off with some vibrant starters designed to wake up the taste buds. Imagine smoked Stracciatella, which is a super creamy cheese, served with fresh peas, broad beans, mint, chilli, and lemon, alongside crispy focaccia. Or perhaps a dish of heritage beetroot with crisp endive, basil pesto, and creamy ricotta montella, topped with pine nuts and pickled walnuts for a bit of crunch. And for something truly green, the Asparagi celebrates the best of spring asparagus with a light mint and lemon ricotta.

The main courses follow the same fresh, coastal theme with some elegant seafood-inspired mains. There’s the Orata con Spinaci, a beautiful baked sea bream fillet with lemon and basil, pine nuts, and steamed spinach. Another standout is the Swordfish Involtini. This is a refined dish where swordfish loin is filled with a delicious mix of parsley, lemon, capers, garlic, and breadcrumbs, then rolled, baked, and served with courgettes and a zesty lemon dressing. These seasonal specials really capture the essence of spring dining in true Italian style, offering something a bit different from the usual.

Keeping the little ones happy (and your wallet, too)

One of the best things about Piccolino's plan for the school holidays is its clear family focus. They've put a lot of thought into making it a genuinely family-friendly experience. The headline news is that throughout the school holidays, children dining is just £5. That's not a typo. For a fiver, kids get a main course and a spectacular seasonal dessert: the Candyfloss and Chocolate Lollipop Bombolini. That sounds like a dessert they'll be talking about for weeks. This amazing offer is available when dining with two full-paying adults at selected restaurants.

But the fun doesn't stop with the food. There's also a playful programme of Easter activities planned, including chocolate-making workshops at certain locations, turning a simple meal out into a memorable adventure. It's a fantastic way to keep them entertained. And there’s another great part to this. On Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday, for every £5 kids' meal sold, £1 will be donated to the charity Dreams Come True, which helps children and young adults with life-limiting conditions. So, you get a great value meal for the kids, and a local charity gets a helping hand. It’s a win-win situation. This fantastic offer for children dining and the extra activities really show a commitment to being a family-friendly destination this Easter. Here are the restaurants where the offer is running:

So, from a classic Sunday roast with a special seasonal lamb roast to a menu bursting with fresh spring dishes and brilliant offers to make the school holidays easier, Piccolino seems to have every base covered. It’s all about creating a wonderful atmosphere for a family feast where everyone feels welcome and well-fed.
