Create a mini rocket explosion

Eureka! The National Children’s Museum is the only fully interactive museum in the UK which is totally dedicated to children and offers an extraordinary, fun-packed day out for all. Nothing is behind a glass cabinet, so kids can literally get their hands on everything! So when the COVID-19 epidemic has passed, we fully recommend getting you and the kids along to discover this fantastic museum.

As family days out are put on hold, Eureka have been thinking how they can make your family days in as much fun as possible.

So, if you’re stuck in self-isolation, why not teach yourself a little bit about… rocket science. Sound complicated? Well don’t let that put you off, the awesome team at Eureka! have put together this short video below that explains the science behind rockets and they’ve even included a cool experiment that you can try at home (with supervision, of course!)

Now it’s your turn

Eureka’s expert staff have come up with a series of experiments that can be done at home, all designed to inspire children to get hands-on, have fun, and learn about themselves and the world around them.

Get experimenting and send us or share your pictures and videos using #YorkshireTogether and #EurekaMuseum and we’ll share on our social media feeds too.
