Shans Supermarket

Very bad experience at Shan’s Supermarket. As soon as you enter the store, there is a strong, unpleasant smell that makes it uncomfortable to shop. When I went to the meat section to order chicken and paya, the staff told me the section was closed — even though there were still 2 hours left before the store closing time. The staff were not busy at all, just standing around and chilling, clearly too lazy to do their job. This shows a complete lack of professionalism and poor customer service. If you are open, all sections should be operating properly, not closed early for staff convenience. Overall, very disappointing experience. Poor hygiene, lazy staff, and terrible service. I will never come back and do not recommend this store to anyone.

Absolutely stinks upon entering the store. There was an offer on an item if you bought three,when asked the skinny guy at the till was unhelpful and told me he couldn’t add it to my order. He had absolutely no manners whatsoever and barely spoke English. The frozen section contained items which were out of date and most freezers were completely empty or closed. Avoid

Been having lots of issues since new owner taken over. Empty shelves. Rotten fruit and veg. No customer service. Having to wait around for meat and to pay. And most recently this 100% halal place is not actually halal. They sold me pasta sauce that contains wine. In the Muslim community this is totally wrong. Shame on the new owners of Shans they need to close up and leave

Arrived at shans supermarket unfortunately in all my years of going never had a problem until recently .MUST BE NEW MANAGEMENT because to my surprise shelf’s were empty ,all I needed was a few essentials to make food for my family so I bought some fish and had to get 1kg boneless chicken. When arrived at home to prepare the food .could instantly smell a foul odour coming from the meat and fish and unfortunately it’s unable for anyone’s consumption Rang the number as listed by Google and after a few tries no answer. my family was saying take it back ,it wasn’t cheap and it’s unusable and had to be binned .after a few more tries and still no answer It was all binned and will have to buy some more from elsewhere which In a living crisis isn’t easy to do.wouldn’t shop here no more as it’s more of a hassle store than convenient store.

Shans is the only place you ever need if you wish to source all ingredients for Indian style cooking. They also stock Chinese and Italian cooking ingredients. They stock fresh halal meat, herbs and spices, grains, pulses, seeds, pastes, curry powders, sweets, sauces, pickles and a big offering of kitchen hardware too. Pans, pots, knives, utensils, trays and cutlery. Prices are competitive.
