Steam gala w/e with plenty of atmosphere & very busy. Food/drinks available at stations with a bar on most services. Well kept stations & friendly volunteers make this railway special.

I guess it would have to lose points for disabled access but otherwise this is a must-see piece of history in Yorkshire. You can see why it has featured in over 20 films and tv series, it's Victorian charm and unique situation, gives it an absorbing quality that transports you back in time. It has to be the smallest railway level crossing in the world too.
