I thought it was great, but I suspect there may be cons for other people. Pros: 1. The show was "Jeeves and Wooster". I gave that a 5 star. The actors were amazing. 2. It's a small theatre so you are near the action. 3. The spacing of the seats is excellent for legroom. 4. Parking was great as you can park on the street after 6. 5. Staff were friendly. 6. Tickets were very cheap -£10! 7. You could pre-order a cup of tea and a biscuit if you wanted for intermission. Cons: 1. A tiny bar area to hang about at intermission. This is just the relative to the size of the theatre. 2. I'm told that the toilets were too small for the number of people. I didn't actually check so this might be wrong**. Again, this is relative to the size of the theatre

I have just watched the first night showing of Thrill of Love, the story of Ruth Ellis. A beautifully crafted faultless presentation by a small team of first rate actors and actresses. A thought provoking story that makes you think about the two victims, Ruth and her lover. The circumstance of the crime and the right and/or wrong of the sentence and whether or not the death penalty should have been abolished. Something you must decide for yourself. It is a show that you should not miss.

Firstly, I think the plays are generally very good, well-produced, etc, credit should go to all involved. I do have a point to make, however regarding ticket concessions. (I know £2 off a £12 ticket is only a slight difference but it is the principle, and, anyway, every little helps, especially in these economic times). I think these should be applied fairly & transparently. What I experienced the other day was certainly not this. As a person having to claim benefits at the moment, I asked about concessions, and, although I did manage to get one, I felt I had to push for it as they seemed reluctant to tell you that anyone under pension age is entitled. When taking this up with them at the theatre, I was told that any pensioner, no matter their financial status, was entitled to one, but were non-committal about other groups. I have nothing against older people & would agree that a pensioner of limited means should certainly be entitled to one, but there are many who do not fit that category and other groups of people with financial constraints in need of the discounts, including low-paid workers. I know some businesses do pensioner discounts but this feels particulary discriminatory as these are considered community organisations and it almost feels like some people are unwelcome. As someone with an interest in theatre & membership of a similar organisation, I feel I need to make a stand.

1st time at the Playhouse and wasn't sure what to expect, but play was excellent, well attended. Bar prices very reasonable. Good night and not expensive, will definitely buy tickets in the future.
