Metropolis Bar & Grill

We had a really good experience here yesterday. Spent the day at Flamingo Land and chose this place for food as wanted something more substantial than burgers/hot dogs etc. Good beer and a lot of alcohol choices to have with the meal. I also thought that the drinks were good value for money for a theme park. We ordered: Mozzarella sticks Loaded fries (the chilli and cheese ones) Chilli Tacos Beef birria sandwich Kids burger and chips The portion sizes were great and the food was really tasty. Also good value for money. Loses a star as we had to ask for cutlery and then search for some ketchup. But overall, I would definitely eat here again on another visit to Flamingo land. Finn, the guy who served us was also very friendly.

Staff aren’t very helpful, can tell they don’t like their job standing about not doing much with faces like a slapped… the server was the worst attitude stinks. There was a couple families at the tablets not many, wasn’t busy at all. 1 kid was booting the snooker table, pool queues chucked all over as well as other things, trying not to break my neck while near on 7 month pregnant. Waited over half an hour for a plain beef burger that cost £14.50. Not to mention the smell of the place.

Having our first holiday in FlamingoLand since 2019, in fact it’s our first holiday at all since 2019. We are still very much shielding to protect our disabled son from Covid so we no longer eat in restaurants for this reason. Despite Metropolis being a sit in only restaurant, the staff went above & beyond to cater for us to allow us to have takeaway back in our lodge. Having eaten in Metropolis numerous times before, we were over the moon that the staff were so helpful to make up our order & it did not disappoint! The food was delicious! The chef was very apologetic at the presentation as they had to go & borrow takeaway boxes from the nearby chip shop, however he needn’t have worried at all, he did a phenomenal job & we are very grateful. Thank you so much! 10/10 🌟

I do not recommend this place in the slightest, please read this review before considering to go. - The Food: The worst quality food you can find, the pulled pork tacos my partner and I purchased tasted like dog food. The food was also overpriced as were the drinks so if you are a company of two or a family it will very quickly become too expensive. - The Location: The restaurant is located across from the pirate show which is incredibly loud and only has 30-minute intervals between shows. While the show is going there is also music playing in the restaurant and becomes very overstimulating very quickly. My partner and I are both autistic and we’re finding ourselves feeling sick and overstimulated. - The staff: staff members were unfriendly and reserved but then again I do not blame them considering the location. - Cleanliness: every table and chair was sticky and sickening, even with a few wipes of a handkerchief it remained filthy and almost impossible to lean on without feeling yourself getting dirty.

Waited ages for our kids milkshake that was ordered as a drink, they didnt bother to bring it to the table till the food came which was about 20 minutes later, when the food arrived (burritos) they looked disgusting the chips were cold, wet and soggy! The food tasted awful and burritos had no sign of chilli con carne inside them! Looked like rice and corned beef!! Paid £50 for slop and the front of house staff member who brought food out went on as if he couldnt understand basic english when i raised these issues!
