Knaresborough Viaduct is a beautiful peice of architecture and carries the Harrogate train line over the River Nidd in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, England. The viaduct spans the Nidd Gorge about 200 metres north of the ruins of Knaresborough Castle and is a well-known landmark in the town. A beautiful walk from the town down to the viaduct and my friends and I visited on a clear winters day.
Knaresborough is a small town in Yorkshire region. It's a very beautiful place for a day tour with friends and family. Note: Photos are taken from 1st week of September.
This is a beautiful place with lots going on. The river and viaduct stand out but the castle is another lovely spot for enjoying scenic views. There was also an interesting artisan market going on at the castle when we visited. The town has lots of shops and cafes, the railway station is really charming and there’s a beautiful church next to the railway station too. Lots to see and you can spend a really pleasant afternoon here.
Perfect day out for kids. The view is amazing and worth the visit if you are visiting Knaresborough.
How do you rate a viaduct, a monument, a brick-laden masterpiece? You don't really, you just enjoy it. We went to see the viaduct today as I'd never been to Knaresborough before and despite the dreamy wet weather it was a refreshing change to see something so historic, as well as the very swollen river. I'd like to see the viaduct again in the summer some time when the boating activities are in full sway & the cafes are open.
