Classy memorial, with wonderful views of the gorge and town below.
A lovely war memorial, whom many young lifes lost in WWI.
At a memorial for the fallen we pause to remember all the young lives that were lost. In the UK the many dead during the First World War are honored with poppies. From the memorial a beautiful view of the famous bridge of Knaresborough.
The Memorial is located in Castle Yard Gardens, which is a 10 minute stroll from Knaresborough Town centre (HG5 8DE). Excellent viewing point over the River Nidd, providing a stunning photo oppurtunity. The area is well maintained and the four brass plaques , one each side of the stone plinth, are polished to an excellent standard.
Very lovely place, it has that middle ages mist in it. Very beautiful view and it's fascinating in every month of the year. Really recommend it.
