Karpaty Bakery, Kirkgate Market

Found this bakery while cruising westgate arcade and it was amazing. The choices of desserts and breads was varied, the prices were very reasonable and the service was quick. We got the apple cake (delicious) and walnut dessert (which was a bit bitter but still tasty). Will visit again.

We are not local but always make an effort to stop here when in Leeds as the cakes are simply delicious. We have had six different cake slices in total and they are always excellent, light, tasty (and at a great price also!) Always a quick service and friendly staff. Wish we had one closer to home.

Absolutely delicious cakes! Highly recommend if you're in the area - I always make sure to grab a slice! The staff have always been friendly and helpful, even at busy periods.

Pastries good as always, but try and order there without having your day ruined - good luck. Recently I went there to get some pastries and was waiting for 5 minutes but the lady was sweeping the floor, so I didn’t want to interrupt her and waited. She did see me and didn’t even acknowledge that I was standing there 😆 On other occasions, staff is always extremely rude. If you hate your job so much, maybe it’s time to change your profession?

I visit Leeds from Sheffield sometimes just because I need a cake from this amazing bakery. It’s a real gem of a place, lovely staff, the cakes are incredible and look like works of art(they look very sweet, but trust me you will be surprised). Just on train now home with my beautiful walnut cake (apologise for picture but I hope it does it justice). This was £2.99, you won’t get this in any UK supermarket. Wish I could have given 10 stars. Bought an amazing sour dough loaf as well. The bread is proper bread !!
