I often go to the polish bakery to get some buns etc, however I bought some fruit tarts yesterday as a treat after dinner unfortunately I didn’t realize in the shop that the fruit was full of mould. I got home and opened them within two hours of my purchase just to find mould on the fruit. The next morning I went into a bakery (different lady was on) and explained the situation to her (also waited for all the customers to leave as mistakes happen) after explaining and showing photos to the lady I’ve been told that the fruit can grow mould overnight and it’s normal, even tho I told her it was not overnight but within couple of hours of purchase. She said ‘I didn’t sell you them so there’s nothing I can do’. No apology no offer of the refund NOTHING. Instead I’ve been told to come when the lady that served me was on which is Monday. I find this customer service very poor , paid £7,98 for fruit full of mould and the problem wasn’t even resolved. You should never have to find mould on your food !

Usually really good. I have been going every Friday for the past few months to purchase the raspberry and white chocolate cake but this week the raspberries were totally mouldy throughout both slices I bought. I don’t known whether they’d kept them from the previous week because they had soaked into the sponge so severely, it was quite soggy, the taste of these mouldy raspberries completely ruined the entire cake. Very disappointed and unhappy.

The queues out the door would tend to indicate how good this bakery is. Clearly people are getting fed up of flavourless, boring bread and Karpaty Bakery is the perfect alternative. I have long preferred Polish and German breads, for their flavour, crust and density and until recently it was hard to get fresh bread like this, so I'm very pleased Karpaty has opened up another store here. Come in for amazing pastries and sweet treats as well as a huge choice of handmade fresh bread, cut to order. It's now on the weekly shopping list.
